A member of the House of Representatives from Edo State, Johnson Agbonayinma, on Wednesday accused former President, Olusegun Obasanjo of selling the Apo Legislative Quarters, Abuja due to his selfish interest.
The lawmaker stated this in Abuja on Wednesday while contributing to a motion by Segun Adekola (PDP, Ekiti), titled: “A Call for Change of Name of Apo Legislative Quarters to Reflect Current Reality.” during plenary.
He maintained that Obasanjo sold the quarters due to his then third term agenda.
Agbonayinma lamented that referring to the quarters as “legislative or legislators’ quarters” was wrong since the buildings no longer house sitting lawmakers.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, lawmaker maintained that Obasanjo sold what belongs to all Nigerians for his selfish interests.
According to Agbonayinma: “Mr. Speaker there is no monument. Obasanjo sold the quarters because of his selfish third term agenda.
“He sold what belongs to all Nigerians because of his selfish interests. So, there is no monument in the first place.”
