Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick, cannot be replaced as the country’s candidate for the forthcoming CAF executive committee elections as the deadline for submission of candidate has passed.
The deadline given by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) was December 15, 2016.
Pinnick went ahead to submit his nomination for the elections, without the endorsement of the NFF executive committee.
The former Delta FA chief also did not get any approval from government, as other candidates in the past like Aminu Maigari and Ibrahim Galadima had done.
This has left Sports Minister Solomon Dalung fuming and he announced that the government would set up a committee to recommend “a suitable candidate” for the polls, which will hold March 16 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
