When Lionel Messi ties the knot with his childhood lover, Antonella Roccuzzo, two of his Barcelona team-mates Andres Iniesta and Gerard Pique may not be in attendance.
Messi is believed to have included the entire Barcelona senior squad in the guest list, with fellow attackers Luis Suarez and Neymar expected to arrive in Santa Fe this week.
Andres Iniesta has reportedly turned down an invitation for unknown reasons, while defender Gerard Pique will not attend because of the frosty relationship his wife Shakira has with Antonella.
Shakira, however, denied such speculations recently, while promoting her new album.
“I don’t know where that has come from, I don’t understand it at all because everyone has often seen us together.
“If we can go to their wedding, we will go,” the Colombian pop star said.
It is understood that Xavi Hernandez is the only former team-mate set to attend.
Spanish media also claim that the backroom staff are on the list, although there was no room for the former head coach Luis Enrique, who left this summer or any of the Barcelona board members.
