Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to completed his transfer to Manchester United by Friday.
The 34-year-old is still contracted to Paris Saint-Germain until June 30 (Thursday). It is understood that if the Swede does not sign for another club before then, he will trigger a loyalty payment.
By July 1, Ibrahimovic will be entitled to receive £3.9million, as he would seen out his contract with the La Liga champions.
The Swede will become Jose Mourinho’s second signing at Old Trafford, after Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly arrived for a £30m fee.
Borussia Dortmund’s playmaker, Henrik Mkhitaryan, is also close to signing for United, after the club offered an improved bid believed to be around £26m for the 27-year-old.
