The Ondo State Government factional candidate of the Peoples Democratic Pary, PDP, Jimoh Ibrahim has threatened to sue the outgoing governor, Olusegun Mimiko if given the mandate to run the state.
Addressing reporters in Akure, the state capital, the businessman said he doesn’t need the support of Mimiko, a fellow party member to emerge as governor of the state.
He also said that he would neither participate in any reconciliation move with the governor nor beg him to emerge victorious at the polls, stressing that his would only talk to electorates and go to the polls.
According to Ibrahim, “I am not going to prostrate or beg anybody before I become the governor. I will only beg the electorate.
“So, take it from me: I’m not going to have any type of meeting with anybody. That is recalcitrant to this ambition. It is not a do or die affair.”
“I don’t need to back Mimiko at this time, I am Jimoh Ibrahim and I can sue him after he leaves office and if I have a petition against him I can write it after he leaves office.”
Clarifying what will happen when Mimiko’s tenure ends on February 24, 2017, the factional PDP governorship candidate said, “I will sue him, if I need to, fight him I will fight him”.
Recall that the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, had recently replaced Eyitayo Jegede with Ibrahim as PDP’s candidatein the November 26 governorship election in the state.
