The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, on Sunday paid a visit to former military president of the country, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, at his hilltop mansion in Minna, Niger State.
Speaking to journalists afterwards, Sheriff revealed that he went to brief IBB on the activities of the party and their plans for the future.
“Generally he is our father, father of the nation, I came to greet him, we have greeted him and we have briefed him on the activities of the party and what we intend to do and how we are going to put the party back to shape, to call back those aggrieved, we are calling back the family to be united,” he said.
Sheriff also stated he had reached out to Senator Ahmed Makarfi, on the need to unite and move the PDP forward.
“I have called Senator Makarafi and we are discussing on ways to come together and move the party forward in unity,” he added.
The visit is coming just 72 hours after the Appeal Court affirmed Sheriff‘s position as the Chairman of the Party.
He went into the closed-door meeting accompanied by former Niger State Governor, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu.
