Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, has revealed that he turned down the chance to sign Dimitri Payet, because of the player’s inconsistency.
The Gunners will come up against the in-form West Ham midfielder at Upton Park this week, as they seek to keep their slim title hopes alive.
Payet played for Lille and Marseille in France, before he signed for the Hammers last summer. He has been involved in 23 goals this season in all competitions, scoring 12.
“He was a top talent, always, but had periods of being up and down,” Wenger said.
