One of the rave artistes of the moment, Black Magic, who was previously called EJay, has revealed what informed his choice of stage name.

According to the Repete crooner, “Most black people are known for fetish things, ‘jazz’ and voodoo. The entire idea is to recreate this magic in my music,” he told STV Entertainment.

Black Magic broke into limelight with his single, Confam which featured Sasha P and he admits it helps that he makes good music.

“Sometimes when I’m introduced to people as Black Magic, they are almost shocked. But if they have listened to my songs or if they get to listen, it kind of sticks and all,” he said.

The artiste who is signed onto Syndik8 Records, is getting ready to drop his sophomore album effort, Blackmagic Version 2.0, this year.
