The Secretary to the Adamawa State government, Umar Bindri has justified why it is necessary for Fulani herdsmen to carry guns when moving with their cattle from one state of the country to another.
Bindri disclosed this while speaking at a news conference in Yola.
He believed that the herdsmen should carry arms wherever they go with their cows.
He also said that both the herdsmen and farmers who regularly clash needed to protect themselves.
“The security situation in Nigeria, the nomadic Fulani herdsmen need to go about with weapons for self-defence,” Bindri said.
