Why Fayose has many foes – Ekiti Speaker

The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Right Honourable (Pastor) Kola Oluwawole, has declared that the state governor, Dr Peter Ayodele Fayose, has many foes among the Nigerian political elite.

Oluwawole stated this in a message signed by his Special Assistant (Media), Stephen Gbadamosi, to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day being elaborately celebrated by the Fayose-led administration in Ekiti State, the first of its kind.

The Speaker noted that had it not been for the politics of bitterness being played in the country, Fayose should be one of the most loved servants of the people, having achieved many firsts in governorship position.

“This year’s occasion of International Women’s Day is another first being recorded by the Fayose-led administration. It is being celebrated in a remarkable way.

“This year’s occasion of International Women’s Day celebration in Ekiti State is another first scored by Dr Peter Ayodele Fayose. It has never been these good for our women, both in the urban centres and the grassroots.

“This is one of the reasons some political elites loathe this gentleman governor. They have never been able to match his achievements. He has singled out women for celebration, particularly in 2017.

“He is committing a lot of resources to the welfare of our women. All these efforts are aimed at banishing poverty from among the womenfolk. No one has done anything of this magnitude before now.

“I congratulate all women in our dear state and the entire nation, particularly the wife of the governor, Evangelist Feyisetan Fayose; wife of Mr Deputy Governor, Deaconess Janet Olusola; and my wife, Pastor Moji Oluwawole, on this auspicious occasion.

“As long as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is in government, our women will continue to be celebrated, especially in Ekiti State.

“We will continue to consolidate on all achievements we have recorded under Fayose. For more than a century, nobody has thought of upgrading our Oja Oba to an international standard market; nobody thought of giving us a flyover.

“Nobody thought Ekiti roads need to be dualised. Some even said our state does not deserve an airport. Nobody thought our women should be accorded a place of priority. Fayose has thought of all these a long time ago ahead of his traducers.

“I congratulate Mr Governor too for being the leading light; the divinely-ordained architect of modern Ekiti. May our women have a fruitful Women’s Day celebration,” Oluwawole said.

The Speaker admonished the various women groups to make judicious use of the soft loans that would be made available to them and ensure they were promptly repaid so that the gesture would go round.
