Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to intimidate the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.
Fani-Kayode insisted that the interrogation of Ekweremadu was another “manifestation of Buhari’s obsessive paranoia and morbid fear.”
Ekweremadu, who reported himself at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja earlier on Tuesday for questioning, was held for hours.
He was, however, released on administrative bail on Tuesday evening after being grilled for hours by operatives over allegations bordering on fraud and money laundering.
Reacting to Ekweremadu’s interrogation, Fani-Kayode, in a tweet wrote: “Using EFCC to lock up my friend and brother Dep. Senate President Ike Ekweremadu changes nothing.
“It is yet another manifestation of Buhari’s obsessive paranoia and morbid fear. Ekweremadu, who is innocent of any wrongdoing, will be vindicated and Buhari will soon be out of power.”
