A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has revealed why the British handed over Nigeria to the North.
Fani-Kayode believes that Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Saurdana of Sokoto, bowing before Queen Elizabeth II, was a good example of the Northern loyalty to the Brits.
According to Kayode, it was this submission that made the colonial masters hand over the country’s leadership to the Northern politicians.
Sharing a photo where the Saurdana was bowing to the queen on twitter, Fani-Kayode wrote, “Saurdana of Sokoto bows before Queen Elizabeth 11 of Great Britain.
“This tells the whole story. The north just LOVE the Brits and the Brits just LOVE the north
“That is why they handed Nigeria over to them when they left in 1960.”
