Shuaibu Amodu turned down the chance to take charge of the Super Eagles, after Sunday Oliseh resigned from the post on Friday.

The coach, who qualified Nigeria for the 2002 and 2014 World Cups, rejected the job citing health reasons.

U-23 coach Samson Siasia, U-20 coach Emmanuel Amuneke and Eagles assistant Salisu Yusuf, have been announced by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), as temporary handlers of the national team.

NFF technical committee chairman Chris Green announced the appointments, saying: “The new crew has the mandate to reach out to the very best Nigerian players anywhere.

“The matches against Egypt would not be picnics and we need our very best for those contests.”

It is understood that the NFF are still planning to hire a foreign coach later this year.
