Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, has made it very clear that he will not sell striker Diego Chelsea to any Chinese club, because it will make every other Premier League club vulnerable to the riches from the Far East.
Costa was left out of the Blues’ squad for their trip to Leicester City on Saturday, after he reportedly clashed with manager Antonio Conte in training.
The Spain international complained about a back injury and Conte’s backroom staff were not convinced about it, especially with news that he was being offered £30million a year from an unnamed Chinese club.
Abramovich has however taken a stand and will not be pressured into selling the 28-year-old.
“He is adamant about it,” a source at Stamford Bridge told the UK Mirror
The Russian billionaire has reportedly told Costa’s agent, Jorge Mendes, that there is no deal to negotiate.
“The owner is going to play hard-ball,” added the source.
Abramovich may however change his stance in the summer.
