What Spurs must do to overtake Arsenal – Thierry Henry

Former Arsenal captain, Thierry Henry, has said that their North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, must start winning silverware before they feel they have overtaken the Gunners.

Spurs defeated Arsenal 2-0 on Sunday and closed the gap between themselves and Premier League leaders Chelsea to four points. The win also meant they will finish above Arsene Wenger’s team for the first time in 22 years.

There has since been talk of a power shift, but Henry does not agree and insists he does not envy Mauricio Pochettino’s team.

“Not envy, because after 20 years they still don’t have anything to show for it, so far,” Henry said on Sky Sports.

“I know they are trying to.”

Referring to fellow player-turned-pundit Frank Lampard, he added: “I have a man next to me, for a long time we were beating them. Then, at one point, I was like ‘hang on a minute, they [Chelsea] are doing something right’.

“They had won the league, then they won the league again, and then they won the cup. They won something with it, and we thought ‘hang on, the power is shifting’.

“At the moment I don’t see any shift.”
