Governor of Kano State, Umar Ganduje on Friday said that former Governor, Ibrahim Shekarau’s defection is a great development for the state.

Ganduje, who joined APC National chairman, Adams Oshiomhole on a visit to Shekarau in Kano, as he defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to APC, described Shekarau as his brother.

On how he feels about Shekarau’s defection, Ganduje told newsmen in Kano that he was the happiest man to receive the former Governor back.

According to him, this was for betterment of the state as his administration and Shekarau would share great ideas to move the state forward.

Governor Ganduje explained that he had always maintained relationships with the former Minister as a good friend and brother as such.

He said: “The same Hyena and Lion that drove the former Minister out of the APC, followed him to the PDP.

“Today, our dreams have come true, a friend and a brother has returned to us. Together we would move the state forward for the development of our people.

“Shekaru and I shared same principles, ideology, and are both bureaucrats.”
