A governorship aspirant and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Abia state, Prince Chemberlin Adiaso has expressed disappointment over the leadership style of the Abia state Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, saying that the Governor has failed to provide infrastructural development in the state.
He said the Governor lacked the capacity to govern the state, attributing Ikpeazu’s alleged failure to the influence of godfathers who installed him as Governor.
Prince Adiaso who made his feeling known in an interview with DAILY POST Saturday evening, promised to revamp moribund state-owned infrastructures and industries in the state and create massive employment for the people of the state.
He said,”Governor Ikpeazu has not been able marshal out his plans for Abians in terms of infrastructures and then manpower development. He has not shown he has capacity to govern Abia state”.
“What is obtainable in Abia as at now is godfatherism. Ikpeazu has not been able to exhibit his actual potential to govern the state, a state that is endowed with human and natural resources.
“When I’m elected as Governor, I will Marshall out plans on how to make Abia great again. That’s why people like us have joined the governorship race to change the face of governance in Abia state.
“Also, if emerge as Governor of the state, the first Eighteen months, you will see the revatilization of the Golden Guinea Breweries and Modern Ceramics industry. We have glass industry in Aba, which has gone moribund over the years.
“Under eighteen months, all the moribund industries I mentioned would come to life.
On the Monday’s declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari to seek freelection in 2019, Adiaso said,”President Buhari is the best for this country. He means well for Nigeria. As far as I know, Buhari is not corrupt. He is not tribalistic. Buhari has done a lot for this country.
“Nigerians are so excited including me that has declared to run for the governorship seat of Abia state. We are encouraged that by that declaration. It is a plus.
“APC is the shortest way to Nigerian President of Igbo extraction. The northern part of the country, they have gotten their own share now. If all Igbo’s genuinely rally round President Buhari to come back in 2019, after his tenure, we stand a better chance of Nigerian President of Igbo extraction in 2023.”
