Outspoken Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi has revealed what he told a former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, in a photo trending on social media.
Gumi, in a chat with the BBC, said the photograph was taken years ago long after the one he had with Atiku and former Kaduna state Governor Ramalan Yero.
He said: “We exchanged pleasantries after a wedding ceremony, and I told him about what people are saying about the (earlier) picture.
“I told him that because of my photo with him and a former governor, people drew conclusion that I am a member of PDP.
“But the fact of the matter is what when the picture was taken, he was also a member of APC.
“I also told him that whenever people saw me with politicians, people attach political meaning to it.
“I told him that I am not a politician. I am neither a member of PDP nor APC but I lend my voice to any injustice against the people or Islam,” he said.
The Kaduna-based cleric recently lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari for killings under his administration.
He stated that there was less bloodshed under the administration of Goodluck Jonathan.
