What Buhari told Igbo monarch at Presidential Villa

President Muhammadu Buhari has told Igbo monarch, Eze Abdulfatah Emetumah III of Oguta land, Imo State, that his government was ready to contend with anyone who works against the peace and unity of the country.

Buhari said this when the traditional ruler of Umuofor Kingdom, visited the Presidential Villa on Thursday.

According to Femi Adesina, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Buhari said, ”Anybody that tries to joke with the unity of this country has a problem as long as we are alive.”

Adesina in a statement on Thursday, said Buhari told members of the delegation led by the monarch that his “main objective of serving as an elected public office holder is to make the country better.’

”Our single objective is how to make Nigeria better and we will never get tired,” he added.

President Buhari, who thanked the delegation, who also had with then the Chief Imam of Oguta, for identifying with the progress made so far by this administration in moving the nation forward.

The President assured the delegation that their “well thought out recommendations on engendering unity in the country would be considered.”
