West Ham goalkeeper to play for Nigeria

Former Chelsea youth team goalkeeper, Daniel Jinadu has decided to play for Nigeria.

Jinadu, now at West Ham and regarded as one of the top teenage goalkeepers in English football, confirmed that he has pledged his international future to the Super Eagles, according to Allnigeriasoccer.

He had represented England at U15 and U16 levels but the Nigerian Federation will not apply for a change of association as all his caps for England at youth level were in friendly matches.

The Nigeria U17 coaches are monitoring the performances of the Hammers U18 star with a view to including him on the roster for the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil.

Jinadu has made five appearances in the U18 Premier League posting two shutouts, and made the bench for Premier League 2, Premier League International Cup and EFL Trophy matches.

Jinadu, who was born in Nigeria, trained with West Ham’s first team in Switzerland ahead of the 2018-2019 season.
