Arsene Wenger still thinks Arsenal can convince Alexis Sanchez to stay, UK Mirror reports.
On Saturday, Sanchez admitted that he wants to play in the Champions League which the Gunners cannot offer again until 2018 at least.
However, Wenger is adamant he will not sell the Chile international to a Premier League rival this summer and believes money will resolve the saga.
Manchester City are in pole position to sign the player and know Arsenal are facing a dilemma, because Sanchez could leave for nothing in a year’s time, when his contract expires.
Wenger insists he has had “positive” messages from the 28-year-old about his future and the Gunners may let him go into the final year of his contract if they have to.
They expect Sanchez to report back for training on July 30.
