Wenger reportedly tells Arsenal players he is leaving

Arsene Wenger has reportedly told Arsenal players, that he will not be their manager next season.

According to Italian football journalist, Tancredi Palmeri, the Frenchman has informed his squad about his decision, but is yet to have meeting with the board.

The Gunners hierachy are ready to offer Wenger a two-year deal, but the 67-year-old has set his mind on walking away after 20 years in charge.

On Tuesday, Wenger watched on as his side were eliminated in the last 16 of the Champions League , for the seventh successive year.

Before the game, some of the club’s supporters held signs outside the Emirates Stadium, calling for the long-serving manager to leave.

Palmeri, however, insists that the club’s board was yet to be informed about Wenger’s decision and that “everything can still happen.”
