Wenger labels ‘circus’ around Klopp’s next job as ‘ridiculous’

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, has called the obsession with Jurgen Klopp’s next job a ‘ridiculous circus’.

Klopp announced in a press conference on Wednesday, that he was leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season, after spending seven years at the club.

Ever since, there has been a lot of speculation about where the 47-year-old will be next season, after he also confirmed he will not be going on a sabbatical.

“I’m not an agency to place managers,” Wenger replied, when asked about Klopp’s announcement.

“I like every manager and respect, everybody. I find that circus a bit ridiculous.

“It’s down to every club to make the right decision and to respect Dortmund. Dortmund is a massive club and will survive, and has the ability to keep their best players. They have a big history linked with great results and great achievements so I don’t think that will stop for Dortmund.”

Wenger was also irritated that some of the speculation linked Klopp as his replacement at the Emirates. When asked about the possibility, the Frenchman who has two years left on his current contract said: “I have already answered this question.”
