Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has revealed that he held a “clear the air” meeting with his players, after their 3-1 defeat to Manchester United last weekend.

The Gunners gifted United two early goals in the opening 11 minutes, but were widely praised for the way they responded, even those David de Gea made a couple of fine saves to deny them.

Wenger insists the team is ready to move on from that disappointing defeat.

“You clear the air straight away. When you have a defeat like that, a disappointment like that, you try to analyse it straight away with the players, to get it out of their system and focus on what is in front of you.

“In our job there is always in the next game that you can show that you have digested and focused on what’s in front of you,” Wenger said ahead of Sunday’s trip to Southampton.
