Arsene Wenger has confirmed that midfielder Jack Wilshere, will undergo a “very minor’ surgery on his ankle, in some days.
After the England international returned to action 16 months ago, the 21-year-old saw his fine run in the team halted in March, with problems in his left ankle.
Ever since his return from the space-age rehabilitation programme, Wilshere has been used in bits. However, Wenger has said the latest surgery is nothing to fret over.
“Jack will have small, mild surgery,” the Frenchman told the club’s official website. “It is a very small, small, small one. It is to remove a small pin. It will not be a problem.
“He will need very minor surgery, but we manage that as far as we can until the end of the season. At the moment, we use him only in games when I feel he is really needed.
“He won’t be available for England in the forthcoming friendlies but he will be back for pre-season. Of course he is disappointed to miss the England game in Brazil but he will go next year [to the World Cup final
