Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has revealed that they indeed made a €100million offer for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, in the summer transfer window.
Wenger also admits he will try to land the France winger again.
A move for Lemar collapsed on deadline day, as the Gunners tried to seal a deal for the 21-year-old, with a fee agreed with Manchester City for Alexis Sanchez’s departure. Both moves broke down.
Despite the player choosing Monaco over Arsenal, Wenger revealed that he would continue his pursuit of the midfielder, and will make another offer in the future.
“He decided to stay at Monaco,” Wenger told Telefoot.
“Did we make a €100m offer? Yes. Are we going to make another offer? Yes.
“He is always ready to receive the ball, he is quite complete in both defence and attack.”
