Danny Welbeck scored the winner against Manchester United, as Arsenal progressed to the semi-finals of this season’s FA Cup.
The England striker, who came up through the ranks at Old Trafford, moved to the Emirates last summer for £16m, after new manager Louis van Gaal deemed him not good enough.
Arsene Wenger’s men took the lead, after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain danced through United’s defence and set up Nacho Monreal to finish calmly past David De Gea. Wayne Rooney equalized few minutes later, as both sides went into the break level.
Antonio Valencia’s back pass was intercepted by Welbeck and the former Red Devil rounded off De Gea to make it 2-1.
Angel Di Maria was sent off after picking up to quick yellow cards, as the home team’s last hope of silverware this campaign vanished.
Arsenal will now play Reading or Bradford at Wembley.
