The General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Akwa Ibom State governor Emmanuel Udom have called for the sustenance of peaceful and stable homes amidst the trying times being witnessed across the world. Both were among several dignitaries at the church wedding of the son of Apostle Emmanuel Nuhu Kure of the Throneroom Trust Ministries, Kafanchan, Kaduna State and General Secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN held in Abuja November 12.
Pastor Adeboye who was accompanied by his wife Folu, charged the couple, Elshaddai and Vera Kure to put God first in their marriage. While officiating at the wedding, the General Overseer of Dunamis International church, Pastor (Dr) Paul Enenche enumerated some reasons why God instituted marriage. According to Pastor Enenche, the reason was for stability, to fill a vacuum, multiplication of potentials, productivity, and fulfilment of divine agenda on earth and saturation of the earth. He urged the couple to remain faithful to each other in order to reap the bounties God has prepared for them.
Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom state, who chaired the reception, said the most important place to conduct a wedding was in the church. “Where you hold your wedding determines what your wedding would turn out to be,” the governor said.
Speaking on the importance of inter-tribal marriage, the governor said, ”We are trying to see anything that can put us together and unify the country and marriage is one of them. So, no more barriers actually. If there is free movement of capital all over the world how much more of a country if you are talking about institution like this.
“So, l thank God people don’t talk about that any longer. Wherever they find a perfect companion and perfect partners, they go ahead with it and l think it is a very blessed marriage given the calibre of men of God who are attending this wedding.
While the young Kure hails from Kaduna State, his bride is from Edo State.
The father of the groom, Apostle Kure expressed joy in seeing his son take the step towards becoming a full grown man and urged the couple to be focused. “Today is like a rebirth of my generation. We give God the glory. “You see, life is not that straightforward; if you are focused and consistent with the things you believe in, you will make it in life and l believe my son has already imbibed that and l am looking forward to another generation that would change nations and affect our country positively,” he enthused.
The father of the bride, Mr. Monday Ozabor, said, “I feel happy for what the Lord has done today. Today is a great day for me so, I thank everybody.”
On how he would want them to live and enjoy their marriage, he said, “l will want them to place God first in anything that they are doing and when you put God first for anything you are doing, there would be success.”
