The Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido Thursday assured that Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would not embarrass the national chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.
Lamido’s assurance was coming against the backdrop of the allegation that the PDP Governors were planning to pass a vote of no confidence on Tukur at its coming National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
Lamido. while speaking with newsmen on the crisis within the party after he paid a visit to Legacy House, said the Governors were ready to put the party first.
He said, “Whatever is the problem between us and the national chairman , we see ourselves as one family. There must be respect. The PDP will not embarrass him.”
Speaking on the committee which looked into the Adamawa State PDP crises headed by him, Lamido said the committee’s report was ready and would be submitted to the president soon.
“Look, we have been trying to work as a family, to get the family harmonised and what we are doing is in the interest of all key players in the party.
“We have been able to bury our personal ambitions and interest for the sake of the party, because it is the only hope for Nigeria.
“So, what we discussed here was, what do we do for the sake of PDP; for the sake of Nigeri?. I want to assure you that we shall not fail Nigerians. On the Adamawa committee, our report is ready and we are submitting it to Mr President, and I assure you that the report is wonderful.”
Reacting to the allegation that a faction of the PDP in Adamawa State was suspended by the committee, he said, “Do you know what they call human management? Naturally, in any human gathering there is crisis, there are problems, but you see, the PDP has the capacity and the sagacity to solve and overcome its own problems.”
