The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo says the Wike-led government would protect its mandate, adding that state resources would be used in improving the living standard of Rivers people.
Banigo, stated this when members of the Foundation for Female Empowerment (FFE), a socio-cultural organisation paid her a solidarity visit at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
She noted that the people of the state gave Governor Nyesom Wike and herself their mandate because they believed that they had the capacity to deliver quality service to them.
Banigo affirmed, “Rivers People voted for us because they believe that we will deliver the dividends of democracy to them and improve on the living standard of our people. Time has passed when people came to Rivers State to take away our wealth. We are prepared to protect our resources for the betterment of our people.”
She assured the people of the state that the Wike-led government was willing to collaborate with organisations in providing services that improve their well-being.
Banigo further reaffirmed that the governor was gender sensitive in appointing people to positions of trust in his administration.
According to Banigo, the state government is determined to restore Port Harcourt to its Garden City status. She also applauded the sole administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Felix Obuah for his dogged efforts in cleaning the state.
