Kaduna state Governor-elect, Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i, has assured that his government will not dictate for local government councils in areas of allocations from the Federation Account.
He said the 23 local government areas will be allowed to run their affairs without any form of interference from his administration.
El-Rufa’i’s spokesman, Samuel Aruwan, stated this in a statement issued in Kaduna on Friday.
According to statement, El-Rufa’i spoke when a forum of APC local government chairmen in the state paid him a courtesy visit.
The statement quoted the Governor-elect as saying that, “we must do what our people want and what will benefit them and we must be firm in bringing positive change and coherent development in Kaduna state.
“We will not touch a kobo or naira of local government councils in the state because the local government areas must be allowed to deliver development and real change.
“They must go and work; development is practical and not invisible.
“We will not tolerate waste and mismanagement of public resources and we will also not tolerate incompetence from officials charged with promoting the well-being of our state.”
