The African Peoples Congress, also contesting the APC acronym with the registered All Progressives Congress, has said that the registration of the mega opposition party “does not take away its legal right over the APC acronym.”

The group also criticised the Independent National Electoral Commission for the registration of APC, saying it took the decision despite the pending court matter.

National Chairman of African peoples Congress, Chief Onyinye Ikeagwuonu, at a news briefing at the association’s headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, maintained that his group would “continue with the preparations to contest the Anambra governorship election.”

The polls has been slated for November 16, 2013.

‘APC’ further argued that INEC’s action was a deliberate plan by the Commission to plunge the country into anarchy, vowing not to give up the fight over the acronym.
