“We were never interested in Thiago” – Moyes insists transfer targets will arrive

New Manchester United manager David Moyes, has denied that the club was ever interested in signing Thiago Alcantara from Barcelona and says his transfer targets will soon arrive at Old Trafford.

The Spain international was heavily tipped to become Moyes’ first major signing, but following interest from Pep Guardiola, Thiago is now more likely to join Bayern Munich.

“I never said at any time he was,” Moyes said, when he was asked about interest in the midfielder.

“There are people we are actively chasing and we are happy with the way things are going.”

Ezequiel Garay is rumoured to be close to joining United, while there are also spirited attempts to bring back Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.
