The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mr. Yahaya Bello has said the reconfiguration of the smart card readers for the nation’s capital has been concluded.
He said this in a chat with the media in Abuja on Tuesday.
DAILY POST reports that fears are rife in some quarters over the readiness of INEC to conduct the Presidential and National Assembly polls on Saturday.
Reassuring FCT residents of INEC’s preparedness, Bello said the Commission had received all the sensitive and non-sensitive materials required for Saturday’s polls.
He said, “We have completed the reconfiguration of all the smart card readers to reflect the date of rescheduled election.
“I’m also glad to inform you that we have now received all the non-sensitive and sensitive materials we require for the conduct of the elections.”
