Stoke City boss, Mark Hughes has said he taught Nigerian forward, Victor Moses the work of a defender during his loan spell at Stoke City.
Hughes was speaking in a press conference ahead of the clash against Chelsea.
Moses is being used as a right wing back by Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte and the Porters’ coach says he owes the credit for helping the Nigerian’s defensive ability which has since helped him settle down at the Stamford Bridge this campaign.
Moses played 19 league games for Hughes’ side in his second loan spell away from the Stamford Bridge.
Hughes who seems not surprised by the 26-year-old’s growth in the new position, taking ‘all the credit’ for the winger’s improved defensive abilities.
He said, “I’m not surprised at all. I’m going to take all the credit for all his defensive work because when he came here, he wasn’t great at that.
“We taught him how to defend and now he’s reaping the benefits at Chelsea!”
Moses has so far scored three goals in 17 topflight appearances for the Blues and will be hoping to help the club stretch their winning run to 13 English Premier League games when they welcome Stoke City to the Stamford Bridge on New Year Eve.
