“We must find solutions before the January window opens” – Wenger

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has admitted that he is concerned by his side’s poor run of results and would need to come up with a solution, before the winter transfer window opens in January.

The Gunners lost 2-0 to Swansea at home last Saturday and are in 10th position. Although Thierry Henry, Wilfried Zaha and a host of other players have been linked with a move to the club, Wenger says it is important they have short-term solutions within the team.

“We have a lot of important games until January,” the Frenchman said. “We’ll decide [on targets] in January but at the moment, we have to find solutions before then.

“At the moment there is uncertainty among the fans, they do not have complete confidence that we will win the game but does it have an influence on our performances? I don’t know.

“I feel we have to look at the solution from inside, and don’t expect too much from outside.”

The 62-year-old also admitted it is a tough time for everyone associated with the club, but called for calm.

“You can see with the results, it’s difficult for everybody at the moment,” he said. “All the teams, even those who invested a lot of money, it’s difficult for everybody.

“You have to keep the focus, the desire and the ambition, and turn it on. That’s how it works in the season. You cannot always jump to definitive conclusions from one game.”
