“We must accept Mourinho’s decisions” – Casillas, “My conscience is cl

Iker Casillas has said that his focus, is to regain his place in Real Madrid’s starting 11.

The Spanish number one, was a shock exclusion, after Jose Mourinho dropped him in the 3-2 loss to Malaga. Casillas insists the Portuguese manager has the authority to keep him out of the team, as the final decision is his, while revealing he had sensed he won’t start the game.

“The coach decides which team he thinks is best for each match, and you need to accept the decision,” Casillas told La Sexta television.

“I’m not used to being a substitute, but above Iker Casillas or any player is the team. What I need to do is continue training and try to recover the confidence of the coach.

“It is the coach who decides who plays. It will be a nice battle with Antonio. There is a healthy rivalry between us.

“Throughout the week, I could sense that I wasn’t going to play, but it’s not a setback. Mourinho didn’t explain anything to me. He doesn’t do it when I play, nor when I don’t.”

Mourinho was adamant over his decision, saying he will not resign neither was he afraid for his job. In another interview with AS newspaper, the 49-year-old said:

“Casillas? I have a clear conscience. “I try to choose the best team for every game.”
