Head coach of Nigeria’s U-23 team, Samson Siasia, has lashed out at his squad, suggesting that the country may be better represented at the 2016 Olympics by the U-20 side, the Flying Eagles.
The Flying Eagles defeated the Dream Team VI 4-3 in a friendly over the weekend. It was their second win over their senior counterparts.
“We might as well take the Flying Eagles to the Olympics,” Siasia blasted.
“We have been training and teaching them what to do, but we could not do the simple things tactically.
“We need help in defence, we have a lot of problems there. Hopefully (Wilfred) Ndidi will be released by his club and he will join us (in USA training camp).”
Siasia is expected to leave Nigeria for their final training camp in USA on Tuesday or Wednesday.
