Head coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi, has blamed loss of concentration for his team’s inability to finish off the Mexicans, in their friendly on Friday night.
Javier Hernandez scored twice to deny the Nigerians a victory, despite playing the entire second half with 10 men, after Pablo Barrera was sent off for handball.
“I think the boys were not that bad, they just lost concentration,” Keshi told media after the game.
“Mexico is a fantastic squad with top quality players.”
Keshi, however, is looking ahead to the important games coming up – two important 2014 World Cup qualification matches coming up against Kenya and Namibia, as well as the Confederations Cup in Brazil.
“To represent Africa in the Confederations Cup is a good thing. But the Cup is not our biggest issue right now, we have upcoming qualifiers with Kenya and Namibia,” Keshi said.
