The Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA has boasted that the party would win the Abia State governorship election, come 2015.

The party said that it has planned to “provide the people with genuine democratic governance” which it claimed has eluded them since the “ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP took over leadership from the back door.”

PPA State Chairman, Prince Emeka Okafor, stated this while addressing stakeholders in Ohafia, Abia North Senatorial District.

Okafor said that Abia had lost much of its resources to bad leadership because of the selfishness of those at the helm of affairs.

He, however, promised that PPA would return the state to the path of development if voted into power in 2015.

The party chairman noted that Abia State, as number one in alphabetically, should have also been number one economically, but for the lies with which those in power have been running it.

Okafor said that it is for this reason that he and other stakeholders decided to answer the people’s clarion call by returning the state to the path of glory.

He called on the party’s supporters to “go to the nooks and crannies of the state and tell the people that the party they have been yearning for is back to right the wrong done by the PDP.”

Okafor said: “Tell them that the 2015 election will not be like what happened in the last general elections, but will be free and fair.

“Our leaders in the state are feeding fat when the led are languishing in abject poverty. The youths should come out to challenge misrule instead of allowing criminals and looters of public fund to be ruling them.”

He advised stakeholders to take membership drive seriously.
