Mr Henry Dickson
The Rivers police command has said it was yet to receive any report on the alleged abduction of Olice Kemenanabo, the Special Adviser on Power to Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson.
DSP Angela Agabe, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Port Harcourt.
She said the command’s anti-kidnap unit could not confirm the alleged abduction.
The police spokesperson said the unit would however begin investigation as soon as it receives a report, to ensure the Special Adviser was freed .
“There has not been any report of such. But I can assure you that the security agencies are on top of the situation.
“If at the end of the day we receive such a report, I am confident that we will do all that is necessary to secure his release,’’ she said.
NAN reports that Daniel Iworiso-Markson, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dickson, had said earlier that Mr. Kemenanabo was abducted in Port Harcourt while returning from the church on Sunday.
He said the abductors had however not made any contact with the Special Adviser’s family and no ransom had been demanded by anyone
