We have no hand in Lamido’s travails – Jigawa APC chairman

Chairman of the Jigawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ado Sani Kiri, has denied allegations linking the state government with the arrest of former governor of the state, Sule Lamido and his sons by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, describing the allegation as callous and unfounded.

Kiri, stated this while speaking with journalists in Babura, the hometown of of the state governor, Badaru Abubakar.

According to him, his party had no hand whatsoever in the arrest of the former governor, adding that the APC has not even filed any petition against the embattled former governor.

Kiri said Lamido’s travail started in 2012 when he led some governors to form the new PDP and betrayed former President, Goodluck Jonathan.

He stated further that it was since that time that the PDP-led Federal government started witch hunting him, leading to the arrest of two of his sons.

“To say APC has hands in the arrest of Alhaji Lamido by some disgruntled elements is mere daydreaming. What connects APC with that case?”, he queried.
