We have made N.9bn in two months – Ogun Customs Command

The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has said it generated the sum of N906,684, 498.26 as revenue in January and February of the year 2017.

According to a statement signed and issued on Friday by the Area Controller in charge of the Ogun, Compt. Hassan Gangua, the Command recorded 344 seizures with duty paid value of N219,813,485.00 from 1st January to 26th March, 2017.

He noted that in spite of the daunting economic challenges, the Command has performed impressively in revenue generation and anti-smuggling campaign.

Gangua called on traditional rulers, religious leaders and distinguished personalities in the state to join in the campaign against smuggling for the economic well-being of the Country.

It could be recalled the Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (rtd) directed all Customs Area Controller (CAC) to achieve the 2017 revenue target of N1.1 trillion in 10 months.
