We have confidence in Metuh – Anambra PDP

Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Anambra State, Wednesday, rose in defence of the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, passing a vote of confidence on him.

The PDP chairman in the state, Mr Kenneth Emeakayi, while addressing journalists in Awka, said the stakeholders had observed with dismay plans by the opposition party to destabilise the PDP from rendering credible opposition.

“The party is displeased with the All Progressive Congress (APC) for making Metuh their prime target.

“The party is not unaware of the plans by the APC to employ every means to distract and discredit Metuh and Sen. Ike Ekweremadu to deny the PDP its new opposition role.

“We pass a vote of implicit confidence in our leader, Metuh, and urge him to ignore the antics of the APC and to continue with the good works he is doing alongside other members of the PDP National Working Committee,” he said.

The Anambra PDP boss, who called on security agents to provide adequate security for Metuh and his family members, criticised a group known as PDP Staff Welfare Association for making “spurious allegations” and attacks against Metuh.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary hails from Anambra State.
