“We don’t want Higuain to go” – Perez denies Arsenal bid for striker

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, has said that the Spanish club is not ready to allow Gonzalo Higuain to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Argentine striker has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates this summer and several reports claim that Arsene Wenger was close to sealing a deal for Higuain, before Perez decided to try and squeeze out extra money from the Gunners.

However, in an interview with Univision, Perez insisted that they wanted to keep the frontman, saying: “We don’t want him to leave. And besides, nobody from Arsenal has come here to present an offer for him. Not 27 million or anything. There is no offer.”

Perez also claimed that they are yet to receive any offer from Arsenal, despite news that both clubs agreed on a fee around £23.1 million for the 25-year-old.
