We did not send you to CCT – ACF tells Senator Waku

The Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has dissociated itself from the purported story credited to Sen. JKN Waku that he was mandated by ACF to be its observer at the on the ongoing trial of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

A statement issued by the General Secretary of the forum, Colonel JIP Ubah (Rtd) and made available to newsmen in Kaduna Saturday, stressed that Waku is on his own as there was no time the body met to deliberate on the trial of the Senate President.

The statement reads, “The attention of the Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has been drawn to a story captioned “CCT: ACF cautions FG over Saraki’s trail” published in the Daily Trust of April 30, 2016 credited to Senator JKN Waku to the effect that he was mandated by the ACF to be an observer at the on going Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) trial of the Senate President Bukola Saraki.

‎”The ACF wishes to state categorically that at no time did the ACF meet in any of its organs ( the NWC, NEC, BOT) to discuss the issue of Senator Saraki’s ongoing trial by the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

“Hence the ACF did not send anybody to the CCT trial either as an observer or in any capacity. Therefore, the ACF totally dissociates itself from the statements credited to Senator JKN Waku in the story. Senator JKN Waku is on his own.

“The ACF is a non partisan, and foremost umbrella organisation committed to Northern Development and National Unity. It is not in the tradition of the ACF to take sides or interfere in judicial processes.”
