Oyo State Police Command on Tuesday said that investigation was ongoing to unravel the cause(s) of the death of a final year student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTCH), Ogbomoso, Adesoji Adediran.
It added that police were already investigating the incident to know the motive behind the suicide as Adesoji did not leave any suicide note.
Public Relations Officer (PRO), of the command, SP Adekunle Ajisebutu while confirming the story in a telephone interview with journalists said an autopsy is to be carried out on the dead body of the 500 level student.
DAILY POST gathered that tragedy struck at institution at the week-end when the Urban and Regional Planning student committed suicide.
Sources informed that Adesoji Adediran hanged himself in his room.
It was learnt that the dead body of Adesoji was found in the room at about 5.30am last Saturday, (March,18) by his roommates said to just be returning to the room from where they had gone to read overnight.
Sources said it was the roommates that alerted the LAUTECH authorities which then reported the incident to the police after which Adesoji’s body was removed from the ceiling where it was dangling.
DAILY POST gathered that the dead body of the student was later that day moved to the state owned hospital mortuary.
