Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has said that his team produces their own problems, after they fell to a shock 2-0 defeat at Hull City on Saturday.
Klopp could not find words to explain why the Reds are unbeaten against their rivals at the top of the table, but crumble against teams fighting at the bottom.
Liverpool have not lost against Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Spurs and Manchester United this season, but they have lost to Burnley, Bournemouth and Hull.
Asked if he thought there was an underlying issue with his players’ mind-set he said: “I know what you are saying. We have to look at this. I can understand why you are asking.
“You can have that view from the outside. I don’t want to give that answer now. But it looks like that – yes.
“I can understand why you ask that if we have the record we have against these teams and another record against the others.
“But I know these boys. I see them every day. They don’t show this during the week.
“We produce our own problems. Obviously, we are doing it now. My mistake, our mistakes.
“In a few days we have another opportunity to play and we need to show we are ready for all the other games.
“If we could play our best against Spurs then prove the rest of it later in the season – that would be the best things.”
Liverpool are now 13 points behind leaders Chelsea and have also been knocked out of the FA Cup and EFL Cup.
