Residents of Kano State have been alerted by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, on the activities of fraudsters who are extorting money from unsuspecting persons with a promise to get them enlisted into the corps.

This was made known in a statement made available to newsmen in Kano on Thursday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Ibrahim Idris.

Following the reported cases of illegal activities of fraudsters in the area, the statement advised unemployed persons to report anybody found trying to dupe them as the corps had not started any recruitment.

The statement reads in part:

“The corps wishes to inform members of the public that it is not recruiting staff at the moment.

“Anybody who approaches you on the purported recruitment exercise should be reported to the police for appropriate and necessary action.

“Those who engage in the ‘shoddy deal’ should desist from the act.

“Anybody caught would face the wrath of the law.”
