Golden Eaglets’ striker, Victor Osimhen, has declared that they are in Chile to retain the FIFA U-17 World Cup, which they won two years ago in UAE.
Nigeria will begin their title defence on Saturday, when they face the United States of America in the tournament’s opening game in Santiago.
“We are here to win,” Osimhen said on arrival at Santiago.
“We are here to write our own story as a team and players.
“We are here to defend the trophy,” added coach Emmanuel Amuneke.
“We are here with new players who want to write their own history and we are looking forward to our first game against the United States of America, which is very important for us”, he said.
Osimhen is the Eaglets’ top scorer, with 39 goals in 71 games.
